Thanks to Becca (Morris) Goldman for getting the ball rolling. :)
Here are some starter suggestions for the reunion schedule. Any input is very welcome.

-- Do it homecoming weekend (The 2009 homecoming schedule will not be set until Jan. 2009 when the Missouri High School Athletic Association creates for the football schedule. The past has shown that the homecoming game is usually that fourth weekend in September)

-- Friday night: will be blueberry hill for whoever is in town, no cost up front for people
-- Saturday day: picnic/tailgate before the game, Alumni association organizes this
-- Saturday night: NOT a formal $80 per plate dinner, but more upscale then the (10th reunion) bowling alley
Possibitilies:
--Schlafly Tap Room in Maplewood (the 1987 20th reunion really liked it)
--anybody in town own a restaurant they'd like us to/will let us use?
--Any other ideas?????
-- Sunday am: brunch at CHS with a tour
Possibilities:
--bagels/cream cheese type of brunch (not hot blintzes or anything)

Sounds good. I'm glad the schedule includes a tour of CHS. Thanks for organizing.

Thank you so much for getting this going! I'm really looking forward to it.

Here's an idea...I'm wondering if we could take a collection sometime during the weekend - maybe the money could go toward a scholarship for someone graduating in 2010, or maybe there is a classmate of ours that is struggling. If those organizing like the idea, I'd be happy to look into possibilities - contacting the CHS guidance counselors to see if there are existing scholarships that could use our contribution.

Fabulous idea, Susan! How come you're so far away anyway? I miss you. Andi

Hi Jenny! I hope I am allowed to participate in this, even though I technically bailed out of CHS before 1989. In my heart I am a Clayton Gal :)

I think that's a great idea, Susan.

Hey Kathryn! Actually, I had already added your name and email to our fancy spreadsheet. I had not yet gone back through my emails to find your address, which I know have somewhere.

I just wrote a message to the 12th grade counselors to see if they have any ideas for where a donation could go. Claire Dickerson and Ann Barber are still there!

Posted for Rebecca (Morris) Goldman:

So, I will contact the alumni association and let them know that we want to do the picnic at the game and how many people as we get closer, there's no charge and they give us food before the game.
I can also arrange for the tour on sunday morning of the high school, but if we want a brunch, i don't want to be in charge of the food, so can we get someone else to take care of the food. stefanie said that she picked up food from Sam's and brought it-bagels/cc, donuts/juice fruit and some cinamon rolls. let's see if we can get a volunteer to take care of that, but i'll do the arrangements.

STeffie's class did the tap room in maplewood for heavy appetizers and drinks, she said the space was great but the food was bad, though no one cared. so let's see if we can find a resturant that has a room to fit about 130 people that is quieter than a bar, so we can talk without screaming.
thanks

By the looks of this message board, we could have the reunion in a taxi.

When are you talking about having this?

I am excited to see everyone. If you need any help with anything let me know.

Hey all! Time sure does fly. I could swear that it was just 10-15 years ago that I was tapering my pants and bustin' out parachute pants at Wydown.

I am excited to see everyone and happy to assist in any way.

The issue of 130 people leaves little room for restaurants without large private rooms. The Bottle Works (Schlafly) is just ok. There is Vin De Set which has nice size rooms, but is a bit more expensive than the Bottle Works (yet lends a better atmosphere and is much less than a hotel). I will look into some other option, if you like. A good resource is saucecafe.com where you can search by the size of your party.

Look forward to catching up!

One more thing...

I would suggest avoiding the week of the All-Star game as it could pose significant travel issues (lack of available hotel rooms, high hotel and airfare costs, traffic, etc.). All-Star is always on a Tuesday, but there are activities all weekend.

So funny to think about tapered pants--thanks for reminding me, Derek! Any thought given to having the event in the summer? It's a long trip from CA and I don't want to miss it. . .tough to get away once school has started for the kiddos! Can't wait to see everyone!

Hey Everyone...I can't believe it's 20 yrs. Well, Derek has a point about the all star weekend, but I am planning to go to STL that weekend, but I can come back in Sept. The homecoming thing sounds like a cool idea. As far as suggestions, I am out of the loop here in Wyoming, but as soon as the date is firm I will book myself out of the office. It'll be so nice to see everyone.

Hey gang,

What a blast from the past all of this is. I would suggest OC's but I don't think it will be ideal for this situation. I know F15teen has a pretty good deal where you just have to have a total spend of $2,000 and then you can really do whatever you want with their private room. ($15 a person = 2 drinks and an appatizer per person.) Parking would be a pain but there are worse problems. It is a pretty hip spot to party at after as well if people are up for going late.

Should be fun to see everyone. Anyone up for Naugles?

Sorry, I thought they would post my name. The above written by John P.

The summer might be better for those that are traveling with kids. It gives the chance to stay a bit longer than the weekend to see family and friends.

Hey there everyone-

Hard to believe that it has been twenty years already! It will be great to see everyone again. Let me know if I can assist in any way-

Hi guys and girls. Just a few things:
1. As many of you already know, Nina (Powers) Johnson has started up a Facebook group for the reunion where we may also discuss things. I'm thinking we should probably eventually shut this one down and just use Facebook, since there's lots more useful stuff there. However, I don't really want to force anyone sign up for Facebook (although I bit the bullet yesterday--and it's really not so painful), so this forum will stay for now.
2. If you care whether the reunion is in summer or September and haven't weighed in already, please please do! We will have to start making real plans soon. So far I see 2 people who would really prefer summer and a lot of other people who generally either think homecoming weekend is fine or don't have a preference.
3. If you have any email addresses for people on the "not found yet list," will you pretty please send'em along. We're still missing so many folks. Thanks! :)

Hey everyone,

20 years!

My vote is for a fall reunion with a preference for Homecoming -- a 'Hounds game would be a nice addition to the agenda.

Has this group officially moved to Facebook?

Look forward to seeing everyone!
